Review and Giveaway: Sykin's One Stop Twilight Shop
Every girl loves jewelry, and I am no exception. And, every girl has different taste in jewelry too. I like dainty and classic jewelry, and when I was looking through Sykin's One Stop Twilight Shop on Etsy, I thought I totally hit the jackpot in jewelry heaven! Sykin's One Stop Twilight Shop has over 45 items for sell, including cards, bingo games (which are also Twilight inspired, and a gorgeous knit hat; not to mention their fabulous jewelry.
Sykin's has Twilight inspired jewelry (and everything else in the shop as well!) is handmade by the owner and designer of the jewelry, Missie! When I heard that I got to review any one item I wanted from Missie's shop, I was super excited. It took me forever to decided what I wanted to review. I ended up choosing the Twilight Inspired Cullen Eyes Earrings:
Now, I hardly ever wear dangily earrings, but as soon as I saw these, I changed my rule. These were just too darn cute to pass up! I really like the length factor. They are long enough to look very pretty and feminine, and not overly long, as to get tangled in my hair or look trashy. They are really a perfect length. (They hang 2 inches from the ear lobe.)
The color is gorgeous as well, I really like the contrast of the amber coloring with my black hair. They show up great! Also, the materials did not bother my ears at all. No itching, the ugly discoloration, nada. They also don't weigh anything at all (at least, it feels that way!) I used to hate wearing dangily earrings because they would always seem to weigh a ton, pulling on my ears and bothering me all day long. But, these earrings feel like I am wearing nothing at all. And, when I turn my head, they don't smack me either! (You know you know what I mean, and you know you don't like when your earrings do that either!)
The Twilight Inspired earrings are great to wear with jeans and a tee or to dress up as well. They are so versitile and they have become my new staple jewelry item. I have to just say, I am so glad my birthday is coming up next month, because I will be putting some more jewelry from Sykin's shop on my Birthday list!

GIVEAWAY: Foxy by Pam Grier
Some may know her as hot, gutsy, gun-totin' Foxy Brown, Friday Foster, Coffy, and Jackie Brown. Others may know her from her role as Kit Porter on The L Word. But that only defines one part of the legend that is Pam Grier.
Foxy is Pam's testimony of her life, past and present. In it, she reveals her relationships with Richard Pryor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Freddie Prinze Sr., among others. She unveils her experiences as a backup singer and a blaxploitation star. In particularly candid and shocking chapters, she shares-for the first time-her view of those films and the persecution that blacks, especially women, needed to endure to make a name for themselves . . . including how it felt to be labeled one of the most beautiful women alive, yet not be permitted to try on clothes in a department store because of the color of her skin. And in words sure to inspire many, she tells the story of her ongoing battle with cancer.
From her disappointments to her triumphs, nothing is held back. With FOXY, Pam wishes to impart life lessons to her readers-and hopes to touch their hearts.

Review: Twilight Venom by DuWop
I was really looking forward to trying this product. I really like red, natural, looking lips. I was so dissapointed. I actually purchased it through Sephora (in store) so I tryed it on when I got in the car. The duwop products are supposed to plump your lips. I have good sized natural lips, and this lip stain actually made my lips smaller than bigger. It was cool and had a nice tingle as well as a nice cinnamon scent, but that's about it for the postive stuff. My lips looked dry and shriveled with the Twilight Venom. You have to swipe the color on very quickly or it will dry in place. The color isn't the best shade of red either. Thankfully, it was crappy enough that the color didn't even stay on. Some stain.. It lasted all of maybe 15 minutes. I really did not like ths product and took it back the same day I bought it. This stuff really sucked (no pun inteneded). It was awful.
**I bought this product of my own will. No one paid me for this post. I am posting it at my own wish with my real and honest opinion.**
Review and Giveaway: Scandle: body candle
Everyone loves to get massages. It's soothing, it feels great, what's not to like? A message is supposed to be a calming thing. Some people will listen to calming music, or burn a nice candle while getting a massage to further relax them. This is where the Scandle comes in.
A body candle. Wax that only burns 2 degrees higher than the body tempture to make for a soothing (and not too hot) massage lotion. Keeping the candle burning allows for a nice calming fragrance to fill the room. Made out of soy, the candle is not sticky and does not harden in a quick wax formation like a normal candle. It is also not tested on animals, a fact I really like. The Scandle body candle has been seen in In Shape magazine, MarieClaire.com, Women'sDay.com, and Essence Magazine.
Scandle sent me a travel tin of the Scandle in Fig & Brown Sugar to review. I immediatly noticed the smell. It is a very clean and warm scent, I really like it. The travel tin has a burn time of 15-30 hours and comes on 15 different scents.
I was very excited to try this, and yet, a little nervous to pour hot wax on someone. I quickly overcame that though, after trying it myself and finding it really does not hurt in the least. Th warm massage lotion feels really good on the skin. It cools down pretty quickly though, but, don't worry, it's not like a normal wax; it doesn't really "dry".
I hate using regualr lotion when giving a massage, it gets gunky after a little while, and you have to keep reappling it. The Scandle isn't like that. If anything, it last too long! It seemily never drys, it doesn't gunk up, and it is extreamly smooth, and not sticky in the least. Have I yet mentioned that it smells great too? I really love the smell of this candle!
Washing it off your hands is a breeze too. I was expecting it to stick to me, like a regular candle would, but it didn't. A little soap and water, and it was like I never used it. My hands were clean and wax free. You should not use the Scandle if you are a Pyromaniac or allergic to nut based products. This is because the Scandle contains soy, jojoba, and shea oils.
Scandle also sent me Dead Sea Salt Scrub to review as well. It comes in over 18 fragrances, but I recieved it in Fig & Brown Sugar. It smells fantastic! The scrub can be used alone or in coordination with the Scandle candle to produce a moisturizing and gentle body scrub. It can also be used while soaking in the tub. And, obviously, you shouldn't use it if you have any open cuts or sores since the salt will irritate any open wounds.
Giveaway Time!
Scandle is giving one (1) of my readers their very own travel tinned Scandle body candle!

Review and INTERNATIONAL Giveaway: Mineral Basics makeup
Mineral Basics is a makeup company that uses only natural and healthy ingrediants in their products. They do not use chemicals, mineral oils, fragrances, synthetic dyes, or preservatives. They offer foundations, concealers, color correctors, blushes and bronzers, multi-use mineral colors (aka eyeshadows), and finishing powders. Mineral Basics even has a skin care line to help fight aging and blemishes.
The multi-use mineral colors are super cool. Not only can they be used as an eyeshadow, but also eyeliner (wet or dry useage), brow tint, cheek color, lip color, nail color, hair shimmer, body shimmer, or even paint!
Mineral basics has sent me 15 samples to review. (Keep reading to find out how to get some free samples yourself!) I got to choose the 15 colors, which were: 1) dragon-flight 2) twilight-garden 3) angel eyes illuminator 4) mint 5) water-myth 6) bark 7) peachy blush 8) hilltop glow 9) kingdom-rule 10) sparklemint 11) elven wood 12) hidden creatures 13) magical spell 14) mer-tresses 15) wonderment.
The colors are extreamly pigmatic. I love deep pigmentation about makeup (you would know if you read my other makeup review!). I got to warn you though, seriously be really careful when putting this stuff on! Once you get it in place, it doesn't like to move. This is great for those long days at work, but can be hard if you get fallout or smudge it the wrong way. I cannot stress this more, but start with a little and build up your color, because their coloring really packs a punch!
I did not care for the peachy blush. The coloring was just not for me. It looked very orange against my pale skin. Dragon-flight was a very pretty purple-y/grey color, and I really liked twilight garden! It is a great smokey eye color being a smokey greenish/grey color. I loved the Angel Eyes Illuminator. Amazing! It is a product I could swear by. It's a miracle 'bags-be-gone' product.
I also tryed "Mint", which is a matte color (matte is when there is no shimmer/ dull). It's probably only because I am so pale, but it did not show up on my skin at all, so I cannot say much about this color. The water-myth is a minty/lime green color. It is very shimmery and has a nice color to it, but I would personally not wear it unless I was dressing up for Halloween. (I wear mostly neutral colors, so green isn't on the top of my list.) Bark is the color of, you guessed it, bark. Yes, I'm serious. This should be very easy for everyone to picture. :)
Hilltop glow reminds me of when you walk outside and there is powdery dirt on the ground which you walk through and your feet get dirty. It is like a powdery dirt color. That's not to say it's an ugly color, but that is what the color reminds me of. Hilltop glow is actually quite pretty, but definetly not my number one choice from these samples :) Kingdom-rule is a gorgeous light pink color. It is very shimmery. Love it!
Sparklemint I couldn't really see. It's just a light shimmer that will blend in with skin tones. Elven Wood is extreamly, extreamly green! Very pigmented! The same goes for Magical Spell. The picture on the mineralbasics.com website shows the color as a pretty purple, but when I got it I saw it is a very bright and outragous blue. Hidden Creatures reminds me of a polluted sky. It's a dirty blue shade (I personally do not wear blur eye shadow because it contrasts horribly with my blue eyes. Mer-tresses was a very nice shade. A warm, woody pink color, it could be worn causual or spiffed up. Wonderment is also a warm brown color. It is kind of like mer-tresses, but not as pink toned.
What were my favorites???
Top choice: Angel Eyes Illuminator
Second Choice: twilight-garden
Third Choice: dragon-flight

Reviw and INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY: Snorg Tees
Snorg Tees is an online t-shirt company that produces all kinds of funny tee shirts. About 28% of the tees they create and sell are ideas that come from their customers, which is totally awesome. Talk about customer satisfaction, yeah?
Snorg Tees offers tees for men and women, as well as kids. They even have a wide array of hoodies that they offer on their website. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Their hoodies are about $30, and their tees about $20. While you do have to pay shippin gand handling, you won't be able to find these tees in your local shopping hotspot.
Matt, from Snorg Tees, has generously allowed me to review a Snorg Tee of my choosing. I chose the Blood Drive Vampires tee. Isn't it cute??? I just love my tee. The material is super soft, being made out of 100% combed cotton. The stitching is well done and the design in simply adorable. It fits great too. I hate when you get a shirt (yes, I have ordered a few online before that do this too) that has sleeves that will nearly come down to my elbows even though it is suppsed to be a woman's shirt. The tee has well fitting sleeves that are not too long or too short (I hate capped sleeves as well!)

Review: Yes! to Cookies
Yes! To Cookies recently sent me some cookies to review. They sent me a package of Cocoa-Licious and Strawberry-Banana Blitz cookies. These are the only two flavors they offer. The cookies are "Zero Gluten, Zero Sugar, Zero Starch, Zero Worries", and as far as I am concerned, Zero Taste.
Yes! To Cookies are a healthy snack for people on diets, people who are diabetic, and people allergic to wheat gluten.
I am not a dieter. I am not diabetic, and I am not allergic to wheat gluten. Therefore, I am very used to eating real foods. This means, I love food. I eat sugars and fats and carbs. I love to cook and I love to eat. My family usually centers every family activites (ok, activities in general) around food. I am not used to eating diet products.
The cookies I am used to eating are buttery smooth, melt-in-your-mouth yummy, and have a light-ish texture. Yes! To Cookies are heavy, almost like a dense bread. The flavoring it does have is not exactly tastey.
Now, I didn't want to write a review without having other opinions, so I shared my Yes! To Cookies with my family. Here is the feed back I got (and yes, I am quoting!)
- My mother said, "These taste like dirt. Actually, I think dirt would taste better!"
- My uncle didn't say anything, he just made a face like he did when I was little and made him eat a playdoe pancake.
- My sister said, "These are the worst cookies I have ever had. They taste like cinnamon, dirt and mold. They even smell bad!" (my sister is 10 years old. I always take a kid's advice, they are too young to cover the truth with niceties)
As you can see, my family did not like these. I did not like these cookies. So, naturally, I am not recommending these to anyone.
**Yes! To Cookies sent me cookies in order for me to write a real and honest review. I did not get paid for this post.**

Review: Orglamix Mineral Makeup
All Orglamix makeup is made of 100% Pure Minerals. It is artisan crafted by the maker, Cheri. You can check out her products on Etsy here, you can follow her on Twitter, and you can also keep up to date on her latest products on Facebook! Orglamix has tons of colors and products to choose from.
Orglamix has allowed me to review 3 different shades of her eyeshadows, and, let me just say, I love them! I am a serious makeup junkie, so I have tried everything from the cheaper eyeshadows at Walmart for $1 to the $25 per eyeshadow at Sephora. I am very picky when it comes to pigmentation. I like my colors to have lots of pigmentation, it's easier to put on and lasts longer.
I got to review Chocolate Chip, Teak, and Cranberry.

I was very excited to try these colors, and they did not dissapoint. The pigmentation was great! In fact, I have to warn you to start with just a little shadow to begin with because the colors are pretty strong. Make sure you use an eye brush when applying, and also, really make sure that the mineral power is really in the brush or fallout will occur (the shadow will get on your face; falls out of the brush). The colors themself were great as well. I am definetly going to recommend Orglamix to all my friends!
