QACreate is an vintage and Steampunk jewelry shop that is based out of Northern California. They specialize in (all handmade) Steampunk Cufflinks, Typewriter Cufflinks and Pendants. If you are a fan of antique pieces, then this would definitely be a shop I would recommend you check out. Their typewriter pieces are made from actual vintage typewriter buttons from the 1930s and 1940s era. The Steampunk pieces are incredibly detailed, and hold a very unique feel to them. Some of the pieces even have gems on them, adding a extra touch of pizzazz. You can follow QACreate on Twitter to keep up with their latest news.
These cufflinks are Steampunk Cufflinks Vintage Swiss Watch Movements. The detailing on them blows me away. They are so incredibly intricate, that I could stare at them all day trying to disect the make of them. They are hand crafted from small squarish vintage Swiss silvertone watch movements with gearing details. The watch movements are multi jeweled and are complete, and measure about 1/2 inch across and slightly less than 1/2 tall.
Marco, from QACreate, sent me an adjustable Antique Typewriter Oak Leaf Ring with the letter "Q" on it to review, as well as a gorgeous Typewiter Pendant, which says "Tab".
The detailing around the pendant's face is fantastic. It has a real vintage feel to it, which I love. I love anything vintage anyways, so the extra detailing is just icing on the cake to me! The length of the necklace is great, the chain measuring at 18 inches. The pendant itself measures just a smidge more than 1/2" diameter; not too bulky, yet not too small. When I wore the necklace around, I received quite a few complements on the looks of it. Everyone commented on how cute it was. The chain didn’t bother my skin, and the pendant is pretty light in weight as well, so it did not pull on my neck; 'cause we all know how irritating that gets!
My sister was nice enough to be our hand-model for the next few pictures. Her finger are relativly bigger than my own, which fit the ring perfectly. While the ring is fully adjustable, and adjusts very easily, it came sized in an 8, so I let her help me out! The Typewriter Ring I recieved was also very detailed. You can see the gorgeously ingraved detail on the side of the ring. The detailing to the sides of the ring is called "oak leaf".
The face of the ring is made from a 1930-40's era typewriter and measures 13x7mm. QACreate is able to make as many typewriter inspired pieces as a person wants, in any letter. So, if you check out their shop and don't see the letter you wanted to buy, don't worry! Just drop them a message letting them know what you wanted and they would be happy to make you a piece with your letter in mind.
As you can see, the face of the ring is tightly secured to the band. This is not a dainty ring, so you won't need to worry about this baby getting damaged any time soon!
